Description

Dr. Julian R. Montano specializes in marital and relational concerns, career planning and management, multi-cultural issues, mental toughness training, depression and anxiety, trauma, psychological assessment and clinical supervision. He is a licensed Counseling Psychologist and obtained his double Master’s degree in Social, Counseling, and Organizational Psychology from Columbia University, New York and his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the De La Salle University-Manila.

During his 20 years in the United States, Europe and Asia, Julian served as a counselor, administrator, workshop facilitator, and consultant in different educational institutions, community-based centers and in private practice. Aside from Pilipino and English, he is also fluent in Italian.

One of Julian’s top priorities is the definition and advancement of the Counseling profession. He is currently the Clinical Supervisor of In Touch Community Services, Inc. and a faculty member and the Supervised Internship Coordinator of the PhD Counseling Program of the De La Salle University – Dasmariñas. Currently, he is a Board Member of the Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association (PGCA) and Advisor of the PGCA – Cavite Chapter. He was the President of the Association of Sport Psychologists and Physical Educators of the Philippines (ASPPEP); the Chair and President of the Philippine Association for Counselor Education, Research and Supervision (PACERS); the Vice-President of the Integrated Professional Counselors Association of the Philippines (IPCAP); and the Country Representative of the Association of Psychological and Educational Counsellors of Asia-Pacific (APECA).
