Dr. Francis James A. Gordovez earned his medical degree and PhD in Molecular Medicine from the University of the Philippines Manila and completed his residency in Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the Philippine General Hospital. His background as a doctor and researcher allows him to understand mental health from a scientific and human perspective.
In his practice, Dr. Gordovez offers a balance of medication management and psychotherapy, tailored to each person’s needs. He works with adolescents and adults (clients ages 16 and up), drawing from various therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Mentalization-Based Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care.
Sessions with Dr. Gordovez are respectful, supportive, and paced according to what feels comfortable for you. He provides affirming care for people who may have felt misunderstood in the past, especially those who are neurodivergent, identify as LGBTQ+, are exploring their identity, going through life changes, feeling overwhelmed by pressure, or carrying the weight of past experiences or trauma. More than just treating symptoms, Dr. Gordovez works with you to understand what you’re going through, build emotional strength, and take steps toward feeling more grounded and in control.
